사계절과 놀기 playing with four seasons

내게 있어서 작업행위는 생물이 호흡하는 행위와 같다. 이 세상에서 가장 행복을 느끼는 순간은 작업을 끝낸 후, 완전 탈진상태에서 의 만족감을 느낄 때이다. 나는 작품과 싸우며 일 하지 않는다. 얘기하면서 어루만지고 서로 교감을 갖는다. 아이디어 빈곤으로 고민하지도 않는다. 온갖 삼라만상이 나의 친구이고 작품의 소재인 것을... 그래서 나의 작품은, 대부분이 경이로운 자연의 독특한 냄새, 색깔, 느낌, 특히 사계절의 민감한 변화에 많은 초점을 둔다. ● 예전의 전시회와 마찬가지로 이번 작품에서도 색체와 빛, 그리고 제목은 작품이 만들어진 시간, 계절등을 알려주는 실마리를 제공한다. 내가 작품의 타이틀을 미리 정해놓고 일을 하지 않는 이유는 일상에서의 기억, 여행에서의 추억 등등이 언제 어떻게 표출되어질지 모르기 때문이다... 그러나 작업이 끝난 후 그 작품 속에는 아련한 기억들이 묻어져 있음을 발견한다. 그래서 나의 작품들의 제목이 정해지고 그네들과 나만의 은밀한 소통이 이루어진다.

나의 작품태도는 일시적인 효과를 포착하는 개념을 추구하는 것이 아니라 , 지각과 기억의 종합을 놀이 속에 연장시켜 표현한 것 이라고 볼 수 있다. 작은 아크릴릭 박스들, 혹은 형태를 직접 자르고, 만들고, 그리고 그것들을 이리저리 배열하는 놀이에 빠져들면서 나의 작업형태는 정해진다. 자연에서 받은 감동들이 스며든 채색을 하면서 느끼는 희열은 그 어떤 것 과도 비교할 수 없겠다 하겠다. 보는 각도, 빛의 방향에 따라 쉬임없이 변화하는 나의 작품의 이미지는 보는 시각에 따라 느낌이 많이 다를 것이다. ● 형태는 공간을 합리적으로 조직하고, 색체는 확고부동한 듯한 형태의 세계에 떨림과 밀도를 부여하는 빛을 출현케 한다. 다시 말해 나의 작업은 논리적이고 체계적인데서 나온 것이 아니라 직관을 중요시하는 자율적인 충동에서 나온 것 이다. ● 자체의 고유한 목적을 위해 최선의 노력과 최고의 기술을 요구한다는 의미에서 창조적인 유희는 다른 어떤 인간의 경험 못지않게 진지한 것 일수 있다. Art-making is like breathing to me. The happiest moment for me is when I feel the sense of fullness which comes after I completely exhaust myself in finishing the work. I never fight myself in art-making. rather, I carry on a dialogue or sympathize through caressing. I never blame myself for poverty of ideas. Each and every image and form is a friend, a source of inspiration for my works. ● Images of my work comes from nature. I am particularly susceptible to change in the seasons. The particular smell, color and feeling of each season, melting into my body and sour, at a certain moment are transformed, through the medium of myself. ● Like other previous exhibitions , this time also expectably give clues for the time and season in which they were made. Since I create my work from the memories of the certain trip or everyday life, I never give a title to my work first. I will never know which part of my life is reflected in it. After the work is done, I recognized the work has real imagery and subconscious images that have been brought forth- so that I can name my creative abstract with a distinctive language value. Playing with numerous acrylic cubes which I made by myself...until eventually forms shapes and various colors are applied naturally. Working without a fundamental plan gives me the indescribable excitements and freedom. Images of the works incessantly change depending upon the perspective. They may also change according to the particular direction and strength of the light. ● I express the mixed entity of sensibility and memory by bringing them into a game instead of pursuing the concept for temporary effects. In other words, my work has been accelerated by a voluntary impulse based upon intuition, not by the logical and systematic sensitivity. ● A creative game could be more serious than any other human experience in that it requires the utmost endeaver and highest technology for its own unique purpose.
