삶에 대한 소박한 단상과 그 안온한 조형의 메시지 ● 삶은 평범한 일상의 축적을 통해 이루어지게 마련이다. 일상은 평이하고 반복적인 과정을 통해 개인의 삶을 씨줄과 날줄을 구성하며 그 시공을 기록한다. 이러한 일상들은 알지 못하는 사이에 내면 깊숙한 곳에 켜켜이 침잠되어 그윽한 삶의 연륜을 형성하게 된다. 지극히 평범하고 매번 반복되는 것이지만, 해묵은 일기와도 같이 축적된 일상은 어느 날 문득 섬세한 감성과 사유에 의해 전혀 다른 시공에서, 전혀 다른 양태로 표출되게 된다. 축적되고 침잠되는 과정은 어쩌면 탈색과 변화의 과정일 것이다. 이렇게 표출된 과거의 일상들은 실재의 그것과는 다른 또 다른 요소로 작용하며 한 개인의 삶을 풍요롭고 다양한 것으로 구성하게 끔 한다.

Everyday life creates vertical and horizontal lines on the individual's life through common and repetitive processes. Such everyday life becomes sediments deep inside, without us noticing, and forms deep years of experience in life. Though it is very common and is repeated all the time, everyday life that is accumulated like old diaries one day is expressed in different times and places, in an entirely different mode through delicate emotions and reasons. The process of accumulation and sedimentation can be compared to the process of bleaching and changing. Everyday life of the past expressed as such acts as a different factor than that of reality and makes it possible for the individual life to be more abundant and diverse. ● The works of Lee Eun-gyeong reminds of a calm essay themed after everyday life. Rather than the technical considerations sculpting or the functional materialization of ingredients, the artist's works that displays her unique emotions in a calm and solemn manner is characterized by tranquility and comfort. The work of the artist that uses everyday objects and familiar situations to convey messages and platforms of life, like a short memo, is truly simple and genuine. It does not lean too much towards dream-like or fairy tale-like emotions, but yet, it is not a perception of cold reasoning that looks squarely at reality either. Her works that find humanist stories from the everyday happenings of life, which are then interpreted through delicate and warm emotions.
