2012 로컬 투 로컬-'타이페이 인 부산'

오픈스페이스 배는 'local to local-로컬 투 로컬' 이라는 타이틀로 국가대 국가가 아닌 지역과 지역, 문화와 지역을 예술이라는 도구로써 연결 하는 프로젝트를 다년간 국내외의 도시를 대상으로 수행하였다. 광주, 인천, 대전, 경기 등의 한국의 도시를 비롯하여 슈트트가르트(독일), 홍콩, 마카오, 바로다(인도), 도쿄, 울란바토르(몽골), 베이징 등의 도시의 작가들과 지역과 지역에 관한 현안과 문화를 주제로 심포지움 및 전시를 축으로 실행하였다.

국가라는 정치/문화적 틀을 제외하고 오직 도시와 도시의 문화 및 그것이 처한 제반현실을 바탕을 만을 대상으로 한 이 프로젝트는 한 국가에 소속된 도시로서의 그것이 아닌 문화단위의 범위로써의 네트워크 구축을 목적으로 한다. 전시를 통환 작가와 관객의 소통 및 심포지움을 통한 언어적 소통을 함께함으로써 그 밀도와 다양성을 높이고 있다.

이번『Local to Local-Taipei in Busan』은 대만 타이페이 에서 1997년 결성된 시각예술 단체인 '한투 아트그룹'을 초청하여 수 년간 적극적인 두 도시의 네트워크를 활성화 하기 위해 기획되었다. 2011년 TCAC (Taipei Contemporary Art Center)의 협조/후원으로 'Busan in Taipei'라는 타이틀로 타이페이에서 오픈스페이스 배의 작가들이 전시 및 세미나 등의 프로그램을 실행하기도 하였다.

타이페이를 기반으로 활동하는 작가들로 구성된 '한투 아트그룹'은 대안적 예술활동, 국경선을 넘어선 작가간의 네트워크 활성화 등 오픈스페이스 배가 다년간 탐구하던 주제와 맥락을 같이 하고 있기에 이들을 초청하여 부산과 타이페이의 예술이라는 수단을 통한 네트워크의 두께를 견고히 하려 한다. 전시와 함께 작가의 대화를 통하여 두 도시간의 위치 확인과 사뭇 다른 환경, 고민 그리고 마주친 현안에 대하여 부산을 비롯한 한국의 작가들과 소통과 교환을 이 프로그램을 통해 또 다시 시도 하려 한다. ■ 김대홍

'Bae' is a Korean noun that has multiplied meanings; a pear, a boat and number of times. The name itself signifies location of the space in the pear orchard, locality of Busan as a harbor city and promotion for art. The name represents our goal and how we have to do in contemporary art scene as an alternative space. OpenSpace Bae has run several kinds of programs from the beginning, 2006, which like an exhibition program, an international artist-in-residence program, a public communicational art project, an artist incubating program etc. 'Local to Local' is a part of those programs that would be a bridge among cities not only domestic but also the global art scene. 'Local to Local' has been evolved with Korean cities such as Daejeon, Gwang-ju, Gyunggi, Incheon etc. and it has been expended with the global cities, Stuttgart (Germany), Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Baroda (India), Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), and Macao etc. with an exhibition and a workshop program. 'Local to Local' is not an international art project. It should be called an inter-city art project because it networks city-to-city and culture-to-culture through the art out of nationality boundaries. We wish the 'Local to Local-Taipei in Busan' is not just an ordinary international exhibition or a communicational project but also it can be good opportunities to know each other cities' art scene, local artist, the movements and activities, etc. 'Local to Local-Taipei in Busan' has been co-organized with Hantoo Art Group which has been founded by Taipei local artists from 1997. OpenSpace Bae invites Hantoo Art Group for this program, Local-to-Local, and we wish this program can be a small bridge between Busan and Taipei art scenes. ■ KIMDAEHONG
