작가는 비오는 날 유리창에 떨어진 물방울이 만들어낸 우연한 얼룩에 주목한다. 다양한 크기와 형태의 무늬가 그려지는 것을 그 모양 그대로 화폭에 그려본다. 자연스러운 형태가 잡히지 않으면 가장자리를 다듬어 원하는 형상을 만들어 보기도 한다. 우연한 무늬의 형태들이 때로는 사과나 꽃과 나비와 같은 사물의 형태로 보이기도 하였다. 물방울이 그려낸 추상적 형태들을 생명력 있는 감각적 현실로 표현한 것이다. ● 작가 경달표는 1957년 서울에서 태어나 서울대학교 미술대학 서양화과를 졸업하고, 24회의 개인전과 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다. ■ 고충환

He pays attention to accidental stains on the window created by rain drops. He attempts to duplicate the patterns of various sizes and shapes on a canvas. He works on the shapes until the shapes take up the forms the way he desired. The variety of shapes accidentally created by rain drops sometimes resemble the shapes we are familiar with - an apple, a flower petal or a butterfly, etc. He has transformed the abstract shapes created by rain drops to vibrant and sensuous reality. ● Mr. Kyoung was born in Seoul in 1957.
