The A.=P.

이번 전시 타이틀『The A.=P.』중, 판화 용어인 A.P.(Artist Proof)는 에디션 부수에 포함되지 않는 것으로 한정판에 있어서 번호 회의 판화를 뜻합니다. 작가나 간행자를 위해 기록 보존을 목적으로 하기도 하고, 판매 목적의 견본이 되기도 합니다. A.와 P.사이에 '같다'를 상징하는 '=' 기호를 넣어서, 이번 전시는 작가(Artist)가 자신의 결과물을 스스로 증명(Proof) 해 낸다는 메세지를 전달합니다. 13명의 참여 작가들은 각각, 나이, 성별, 직업, 전공 들이 다르지만, '판화'라는 공통된 매체로 각자의 다양한 작품 세계와 성취를 증명할 것입니다. ■ 박상아

The exhibition is titled 『The A.=P.』The printmaking term, A.P. stands for 'Art\-ist Proof' which means a print not included in the edition copy counting. The A.P. is not only used for documentation purpose for the artist himself and the publishers but also displayed as a sample for sales. By inserting the equal sing, this show transcends the message that the artists prove themselves as artists through their own works. Coming from different backgrounds in age, gender, occupation, major and so on, 13 participating artists will demonstrate their own diverse aesthetic achievements through a single channel, 'Printmaking.' ■ Park Sang-a
