떠도는 집들-집으로 ● '오픈하우스'는 마치 포도송이 같기도 하고, 개미가 파 놓은 개미집 같기도 하고, 시골에서나 볼 수 있는 원두막을 첩첩 쌓아 올려놓은 것 같기도 하다. ● '오픈하우스'는 단어에서 주는 어감에서 보여주듯 열려있는 집이다. 누구나 쉽게 찾아가 그곳이 어떤 곳인지 편하고 즐겁게 쉬었다 갈 수 있는 도심 속의 심장 같은 곳이다. 집은 이렇게 심장과 같이 원활하게 숨 쉴 수 있는 공간이어야 한다. ● 집은 사방에서 자꾸만 태어나고, 또 변해가고, 사라진다. 도심의 대부분은 그 모양새가 같은 형태의 집들로 가득 채워지고 있다. 집은 언제가 그리고 항상 돌아갈 수 있는 곳이다. 그 집에서는 많은 일들이 일어나고, 많은 사유를 하고 있다.

이렇듯 매우 많은 의미를 내포하고 있기에 언제나 할 말이 많은 주제이다. ● 시대의 흐름에 따라 과거에는 잠시 머무는 곳이었다면, 오늘날은 어떠한가? 오늘날의 집은 영원한 재산이며, 후대에 물려줄 수 있는 고정적 가치의 재산이 되었다. 집을 갖기 위한 온갖 노력은 끊임없이 이어지고, 그들의 욕망을 채워주기 위해 우리가 발 딛을 땅은 점점 집으로 변해 가고 있다. 뒤에는 아름다운 산이 있고, 앞에는 물이 흐르는 자연 속의 집이기 보다는 집속에 억지스러운 자연을 소유하며 살아가고 있다. 또한 공간의 쟁취를 위해 투쟁하고 있다. 나아가 가정에서의 행복은 그것의 면적에 직결되고 면적의 좁고 넓음으로 인해 목표와 행복지수가 바뀌어가게 되었다. 공간의 확장은 니체식의 권력의지에 대한 본능적 요구라고 한다. 그것의 소유를 위해 오늘도 만들어내고 이동하고 외부와의 경쟁에서 목표를 달성하기 위해 나아간다. ● 프로젝트 그룹 - Misio의 18명 작가들은 '떠도는 집들-집으로'프로젝트를 통해 자신의 관점에서 바라본 집에 대한 현재의 모습, 이상향, 인식의 풍경을 보여주고자 한다. ● 집에서 겪는 자아와의 원론적인 투쟁을 통해 정체성을 찾아가는 공간으로 읽어낸 박하얀, 편히 쉴 수 있는 의자가 불안함으로 다가오게 됨으로써 기이한 형상으로 변화시킨 박진, 항상 채우고 비우고를 반복하며 자신을 찾으려고 하는 이민경이 있다면, 경수미와 손희락은 최초 생명의 근원인 생명집으로서, 그리고 정착과 이동이라는 순환의 반복적인 행태를 추상화하여 각각 표현하고 있다.

또한 집이라는 공간 자체 내에서 만들어내는 후미진 구석에 대한 관심을 극대화한 곽기쁨, 오수연은 어둠속에서 편안함과 불편함을 공존시키려 하는 긍정적 의지가 엿보이는 작업을 진행한다. ● 그리고 안과 밖이 바뀐 착시적 효과를 통해 안을 벗어나 보헤미안이 되어 자신을 찾으려는 박윤경의 작품을 볼 수 있다. 반면 집이라는 공간에 대한 감사함과 뜨스함으로 접근하는 오문정이 있다면, 그곳에서 느끼는 불안함으로 인해 자행하게 되는 자살에 대해 진지하게 풀어낸 박준하의 작품도 있다. 또한 집을 잃어 본 경험이 있는 자들이 풀어낼 수 있는 현실의 먹먹함을 연약한 소재를 통해 극적으로 보여주는 황지영도 있다.

살아 숨 쉬는 집, 흔적이 고스란히 잔존하는 이상향의 공간을 쫒아 가는 이미애의 작품은 엄숙함과 동시에 그 호흡을 느낄 수 있다. 그리고 소유에 대한 갈망이 극대화되어 이제는 기꺼이 집을 등에 메고 다니며, 기억을 수집하는 정철규의 프로젝트 또한 위트 있는 모습이다. ● 떠돎-이주를 통해 만들어내는 옷가지의 조각들로 공간을 구성하고, 그 모습을 다큐멘터리의 형식을 빌려 현재의 모습을 보여주고자 하는 류정이 있다면, 심상으로의 떠돎을 표현하고자 하는 전진표는 상투화된 집 본연의 모습으로 단순화시킨다.

마지막으로 행복한 집을 갖고자 하는 박수경은 자신이 만들어낸 작품들과 함께 오래 오래 지낼 수 있는 현실적 공간을 꿈꾸기도 한다. 오래된 문구 '행복한 우리집'에서 아이디어를 얻은 오택관은 행복한 집의 모습은 과연 어떤 모습일까를 관람객들에게 물어보며 직접 그들이 생각하는 이상적인 모습을 자유롭게 그릴 수 있도록 한다. 또한 집을 갖고 싶어 하는 모든 이들에게 집을 나눠주고 그 집을 직접 미술적 놀이를 통해 꾸며볼 수 있게 장을 마련한 한조영의 프로젝트를 적극적으로 경험해 보길 바란다.

오픈하우스 ● 오픈하우스는 경기도 안양시 동안구 비산동 학운공원 내에 세워진 공적 조형물이다. 독일의 건축 프로젝트팀 '라움라보어'가 2010년 안양공공예술프로젝트(APAP2010)에 참여해 한국의 방 문화에 영감을 얻어 하나의 복합적인 구조체로서 공공공간의 공적인 사용을 장려하는 도시적인 유형의 구조물로 제작한 것이다. ■ 프로젝트 그룹 - M i s i o

Wandering Houses―To the House ● 'Open House' looks like a bunch of grapes, or an ant's nest, or a shed piled in the countryside. 'Open House' is of course an open house, as the word says. It is a heart of a city where anyone can visit and rest freely. A house must be a refreshing place where one can easily breathe as our heart does. ● Houses are repeatedly born everywhere to be transformed and removed. A city is almost filled with isomorphic houses. A house is where one is able to return either someday or at anytime. Many things happen in the house, and many thoughts are formed there. ● A house! / is a comfortable place. / is where I can take a rest. / is where I want to return. / is where my family lives. / is where I can dream of happiness. / is a beloved place. / is a quiet place. / is a private space completely separated / and precarious. / is what I want to keep secret. / is a symbol of wealth and power. / is a boisterous lace. / is a communication between the inside and the outside. / is where I find myself. / is what changes, disappears, and comes again into being. And so on and so forth. / The subject of a house involves various meanings, and we have much to say about it. ● If the meaning of the house differs with the change of the times, and if it was where one stays in the past, what is it for us today? It became an eternal asset with fixed value that can be inherited to the descendants. People struggle to possess their houses, and in due course, the land we tread on turns into houses to satisfy their needs. People unnaturally possess the nature in their houses, instead of enjoying beautiful mountains at back, and water in front of the house. They also struggle to win the space. Furthermore, the familial goals and happiness are determined by the square measure of the house. The expansion of one's space is an instinctual need for the Nietzschean will to power. To obtain it, people build houses, move to another, and compete with others for the goal. ● The eighteen artists of the project 'Misio' show the present of the house, the ideal figures of it, and their cognitive landscapes, in their own persectives. While Ha Yan Park reads the house as where one's self is discovered through a theoretical struggle with it, Jin Park transforms the chair into strange shape as it imprints restlessness upon the mind, and Min Kyung Lee repeats filling and emptying the find the self, Su Mi Kyung and Hee Rak Son respectively express the repetitive mode of the cycle of settling down and moving by abstraction. ● Gi Ppume Gwak and Su Yeon Oh work on the positive will to make comfort and discomfort coexist in the darkness with an interest in sequestered nook a house generates itself. ● One can also witness Youn Kyung Park's works in search of herself as a bohemian escaping from the inside helped by an optical illusion of inside out. Mun Jung Oh approaches the space of the house with an appreciation and the warmth, whereas Jun Ha Park seriously takes the issue of the suicide committed by the uneasiness felt in the house. Ji Yeong Hwang dramatizes the stunned feeling of reality of those who lost their houses with vulnerable materials. ● One can feel the solemnity and the breath of Mi Ae Lee's works which pursue the houses alive, or the ideal space where traces remain. And Choul Gue Jung's project shows the wit in that the desire for possession enables one to bear a house on the back and collect the memories. ● While Jung Rhu organizes the space with the pieces of clothing made through wandering-moving, and making it into a documentary film to depict the present, Jin Pyo Jeun simplifies the house to its conventionalized form in order to express the wandering toward images. ● Soo Kyung Park, yearning for a happy house, dreams of an actual space where she can stay for a long time with her artworks. Inspired by the concept of 'my happy home,' Taeck Kwan Oh asks the visitors about their happy homes enabling them to draw their own pictures of an ideal house. It is also highly recommended to experience Jo Young Han's project of distributing houses to those who long for having ones and making them decorate those themselves though the play of art. ● Open House Open House is a public three dimensional artwork set in the Hakwoon Park located in Bisan-dong, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Kyounggi-do. It is made as an urban complex structure promoting the public use of the public space, by the German architecture project 'Raumlabor' inspired by Korean room culture when the group participated in Anyang Public Art Project(APAP) held in 2010. ■ Project Group - M i s i o
