두산갤러리 뉴욕에서는 6월 9일부터 7월 9일까지 빅앤트인터내셔널의 Artvertisement를 개최한다. 이번 전시에서는 디자인을 매개로 관객과의 색다른 소통방식 (장소특정적 설치, 포스터, 상품 디자인등)을 시도하고 있는 빅앤트인터네셔널의 작품들을 통합적으로 볼 수 있는 기회가 될 것이다. ● 다른 어느 예술장르와 마찬가지로 디자인은 아이디어, 느낌, 문화의 소통 창구이다. 빅앤트 인터네셔널은 디자인을 통해 창조적인 영역 안에서 시각적인 경험의 다변화를 추구하며 이를 그들만의 독특한 접근방식과 관점으로 보여주고 있다. 이번 전시를 통해 관객들은 디자인을 통한 또 다른 시각의 변화를 경험하게 될 것이다. ● 빅앤트인터네셔널은 뉴욕의 미술학교 The School of Visual Arts의 학생 5명이 모여서 만든 소규모 디자인 스튜디오에서 출발하였다. 오픈 이후, 전 세계 여러 기관 및 단체들을 상대로 약 120여개의 다양한 프로젝트와 디자인을 진행하였다. 또한 전세계적으로 권위 있는 뉴욕페스티벌, 원쇼, 클리오, D&AD, 칸느 리옹 등의 공모전 등에 입상한 경력이 있다. ■ 두산갤러리 뉴욕

DOOSAN Gallery New York is pleased to announce ARTVERTISEMENT, an exhibition of BIG ANT International. Through photos of interactive site-specific installations, posters, and package designs created by BIG ANT International, this exhibition surveys design as an interdependent form of art and creativity. ● Design, much like art, allies and communicates ideas, feelings, and cultures. BIG ANT International believes that design, as part of the creative realm, can provide a formative visual experience that stimulates dialogue and change of perspective. By situating design in the gallery environment, ARTVERTISEMENT becomes an opportunity for viewers to appreciate the intellectual and formal qualities of design that are otherwise overlooked in the ordinary, utilitarian sphere. ● BIG ANT International started out in 2006 as a design studio run by five students from The School of Visual Arts in New York City. Since its inception, the studio has completed over 120 design and advertising projects for a wide range of industries, from fashion and entertainment to non-profit public service. With projects in outdoor design, environmental design, public campaign, and political advertising, BIG ANT International has gained global recognition at top design and communications festivals and competitions, such as New York Festivals, One Show, Clio, D&AD, and Cannes Lions. ■ DOOSAN Gallery New York
