'A Day in a Life' 시리즈는 본인이 경험한 최면상태에 가까운 독특한 시각적 경험을 바탕으로 한다. 이는 소위 'Isakower Phenomenon'으로 불리우기도 하는 현상으로써 사물을 인식하기 전 단계, 즉 갓난 아이가 사물을 인식할 때 조우하는 '순수한 패러독스(paradox)'와 '초월적인 시선'을 만나는 순간이다. 본인은 이처럼 갓난 아이가 사물을 처음 마주할 때 그 사물을 있는 그대로의 날 것으로 순수하게 바라보듯이 세상을 바라보았다. ■ 권순학

I intended to convey the visual experience of an exceptional state I have experienced through a phenomenon associated with falling asleep, namely Isakower Phenomenon. It is an encounter with pure paradox, the transcendent moment before one identifies the world of things. The sequel-vision after the cognition stage is not seeing but recognizing objects. My work is an attempt to present the world as raw object as if an infant would purely see: as I have seen the world through Isakower Phenomenon. ■ Soon Hak Kwoon
