이번에 소개드릴 작품은 윤주희 작가의 '폐기 될 하얀 오브제(2011)' 시리즈입니다. 작품의 크기는 10L, 20L, 50L, 100L 규격크기이며 무게는 가변적입니다. 작가는 금천구 독산 1동 지역에서 쓰이는 종량제 봉투를 구입하여, 그녀가 수집하고 독자적으로 번역해낸 텍스트와 이미지 등을 실크스크린 기법으로 인쇄합니다. 그리고 이 지역 주민들에게 무료로 배포합니다. 각각의 작품들의 내용물은 전혀 예상할 수 없는 오브제들로 가득 차 있으며 그들의 유일한 공통점은 더 이상 기존 환경에 함께 존재 할 수 없는 것들이라는 것입니다...(중략) ..일몰 후 24:00시까지만 접할 수 있는 야간 임시설치작품으로서 일주일에 세 번 새로운 형태로 여러분을 만나게 됩니다. 여러분은 이번 작품을 통해 소극적으로 자신을 드러내던 쓰레기라는 오브제가 그 공간을 떠나 폐기되기 직전에 그들이 마지막으로 드러내는 다양한 태도들을 마주하게 됩니다. 지금까지 '폐기 될 하얀 오브제' 가까이 다가와 주신 당신께 감사 드립니다. ■ 지은이_윤주희 / Youn, Juhee 선택한 대상을 작가고유언어나 여러 매체로 번역해오는 작업을 해오고 있으며, 다양한 협업을 통해 그 영역을 확장해 가고 있다. 하지만 프로젝트가 완료된 이후에는 도큐멘트 과정을 통해 확장된 영역을 새로운 하나의 맥락으로 작업을 이끌어 낸다. 이것은 곧 다음작업과 연계된다.

The work to be presented now is the "White objects to be discarded (2011)"series by artist Juhee Youn. The works are in the standard sizes of 10L, 20L, 50L, 100L, and the weights are variable. The artist purchases volume-rate garbage bags that are used in the Doksan 1-dong area of Geumcheon District, Seoul, and prints texts and images she has collected and independently interpreted on them via silkscreen technique. Then she distributes them to the local residents for free. Each of the works is filled with unpredictable objects, and their only common denominator is that they are things that can no longer exist in the given environment. The works often gather in specific places such as corners of alleys, by street lamps or trees, but can sometimes be encountered at unexpected locations. Rarely, a bag is placed alone independently, but for the most part they form a group in a collective structure, creating a formative effect. They are nocturnal temporary installations which can only be accessed from sunset to 24:00 hours, and are presented to spectators three times per week all in new forms. Through these works, you will face the diverse attitudes of the objects known as garbage, revealed for the last time before they leave their spaces and are discarded. ■ Author_Youn, Juhee From the standpoint of an interpreter who has a clear attitude concerning the relations Youn faces but must not reveal it, she recomposes existing contexts in a new way while maintaining distance from her objects.
