우리가 보는 존재는 현상이다. 우리는 실체에 접근할 수 없으며 다만 오브젝트의 현상적 다양성을 경험할 뿐이다. 우리는 우리의 눈을 통해 마음에 비친 세상의 형상을 보고 있다. 마음은 세상을 비추는 거울이다. 우리는 살아가면서 그 거울을 꾸미고 닦는다. 거울이 서로 다르므로 다른 사람들은 서로 다르게 세상을 본다. 세상은 가만히 저기 있고 우리는 그 가상적 현상을 보면서 각자의 세상을 만들어 살아간다. 세상이 내 마음에 비추어 지듯이 나는 또 세상에 비친 나를 본다. 세상은 나를 비추는 거울이며 그 거울에 비친 나를 담고 있는 세상과 소통한다. 나는 관객에 의하여 변하는 작품, 또 관객을 알아보는 듯이 보이는 작품을 만들며 이들은 시스템에 의하여 의도된 거울을 가지고 있다. 그러나 무엇이 비춰질 것인지, 또 관객이 무엇을 경험하게 될 지는 관객과 작품이 소통하면서 만들어지는 것이다. 관객이 가지게 되는 경험이 관객에게 선사되는 작품이다.

하나의 작품에서 관객은 작품의 다양한 온톨로지를 발견할 수 있다. 이 발견은 작품에 내재한 면모일 수도, 또 관객의 마음에 내재된 인식 구조의 다양성에 의한 것일 수도 있다. 이러한 발견에서 의미발현의 순서와 흐름은 또 다른 하나의 내러티브 축을 형성한다. 관객은 작품을 통해서 경험을 스스로 조각해 간다. 그 조각은 작품에 의해 안내된 현상에 대한 주관적 수용이며 작품에 의해 반사된 관객 스스로의 모습을 담고 있다. ■ 대안공간 반디

We interpret the ontology by phenomena. We cannot grasp the truth of matter. Rather, we can only experience the phenomenal diversity of an object. We look at the world by the mirrored image reflected on the mind. We decorate, modify, and clean the mirror throughout the lifetime. Because the mirrors are different, different people look differently at the world thus compose different worlds. While my mind reflects the world, I also look the world that reflected myself. The world is also a mirror and I talk with the world that contains my image. I make works of art that change themselves by audience. I make works of art that look as if they recognize us. They are intended to implement mirroring functions as systems. However, what is to be reflected and what audience will experience is left to emerge during the engagements in the interaction. The actual experience is the piece of art that is presented to the audience. Various ontologies of objects can be discovered by audience. Both the nature of the objects and the nature of the recognition structure of an audience will contribute to this discovery. Additional narratives can emerge from the flow of the emergence of meaning. The audience sculpt the experience throughout the interaction with the objects. This experience is the subjective understanding about the phenomena that are guided by the objects. This experience also possesses the audience self that is reflected on the world. ■ SPACE BANDEE
