경기창작센터는 2010 레지던시 프로그램에 참여하는 입주작가의 전시를 개최합니다. 이번 『현자, 대부도에 오다 Wiseman in Daebu-do』는 본 프로그램의 네번째 프로젝트로 예술가로서 동시대 세상의 아름다움을 재해석하여 표현하고자 하는 김진숙 작가의 작업들로 채워졌습니다.

바다 위에 연꽃잎사귀처럼 떠 있는 수많은 섬들, 나지막한 산들, 언제나 안개에 둘러싸여있는 풍경, 세계에서 온 많은 예술가식구들과 이야기하며, 산책하면서 보았던 돌, 두루미, 부엉이, 토끼, 어린아이들, 농부들, 소나무, 대나무, 백일홍, 도라지 꽃, 민들레, 까치 등등.

이러한 모든 대부도의 풍경과 정물들이, 역사 속 전통회화를 늘 곁에 두고 사는 나는, 그 시대의 표현된 해학, 재미. 재치, 어수룩함, 넉넉함 들이 그 속에 있음을 발견하고 이 시대를 사는 예술가로서 어떻게 재해석하여 나의 꿈, 환상 즉 세상의 모든 아름다움에 전혀 지치지 않는 나의 마음을 표현합니다. (『현자, 대부도에 오다』) ■ 김진숙

Gyeonggi Creation Center is introducing 2010 artist in the residency program. Kim Djin Suk is exhibiting 『Wiseman in Daebu-do』 as the 4th project of the program. The exhibition is filled with Kim Djin Suk's work to express reinterpretation of beauty in 콘테mporary world as an artist. ● I've seen in and around Daebudo numerous islands that float on the sea like Lotus in a pond, low sweeping hills, high and sharp and fat, stout mountains, landscape surrounded by mist, stunning pebbles, graceful cranes, talkitive owls, fat, white rabbits, smiling children, busy and recumbent farmers, beautifully twisted pine trees, squeaking, straight bamboo trees, colorful zinnia, loud balloon flowers, workman-like dandelion, rowdy magpies and artists who have crossed all the oceans to arrive and work here. It's a very special and sweet place for me and I derive great inspiration from it. I live with traditional Korean paintings of landscapes and still life on a day-to-day basis. I find humor, wit, naiveté, and a fullness of life articulated in these classic works. As an artist living in this modern era, I depict in my works what truly comes from my heart and I produce works that are only further embellished by my dreams.
