흩어지는 촛불 사이로

흩어지는 촛불 사이로 ● 어느 날 창가에서 문득 나뭇가지가 램프로 변하고 꽃이 촛불로 승화되는 환영을 보았다. 따뜻한 불이 어린아이를 즐겁게 해주듯 내 기억 속에서 아스라이 사라져버린 불의 온기를 다시금 떠올리게 해준다. 촛불은 옛 추억을 불러일으키며 성스러운 공간으로 나를 이끌어준다. 또한, 추억속의 교실에 피워진 난로는 추운 겨울 따뜻하고 축복받는 불의 온기를 선사받는다. 멀리 증기 기관차의 기적소리처럼 사라진 불의 추억이 내가 머문 방안을 몽상의 열기로 가득 채운다. ■ 이은채

Through the Diffused Candlelight ● The other day standing by a window, I witnessed an illusion of tree branches being metamorphosed into lamps and flowers being sublimed into candle flames. Just as warm light delights a child, these images revive the warmth of light dimly lit in my memory. The candlelight awakens old memories and leads me to a sacred space. The stove, which was once glowing in the classroom of my bygone days, radiates the warmth of the blessed fire in cold winter. The old memories of light, like the distant whistle blow of a steam locomotive, fill the space around me with the fever of reverie. ■ YIEUNCHAE
