예술, 그리고 그 소리에의 탐구

계절의 깊이가 더해가는 가을의 문턱에서 작가 황순영의 두 번째 개인전 「예술, 그리고 그 소리에의 탐구」에 여러분을 모시고자 합니다. 이번 전시에서 선보이는 작품들은 그가 2007년 개인전 「삶과 현실사이의 오브제」에서 선보였던 작품들과 연장선상에 놓여 있는 회화 작품들로서 최근 2년간에 걸친 각고의 결과물들입니다. 그가 이전에 보여주었던 입체와 오브제 그리고 부조적 형식의 작품들이 단순한 조형형식의 평면 회화 작업으로 전환되면서, 더욱 자유롭고 밀도있는 표현으로 변모하고 있음을 보여주고 있습니다. 「예술, 그리고 그 소리에의 탐구」를 통해 그가 실험해왔던 '삶'이라는 현실을 반영하고 있는 오브제들이-메트로놈, 저울, 체스, 시소 등, 예술(Art)이라는 개념 안에서 새롭게 구현되고 있음을 확인 할 수 있을 것입니다. 부디 오셔서 격려와 예술의 즐거움을 함께 나누어 주시기를 바랍니다. ■

Object between life and reality ● ... In her works, Passing door (You have been scanned), Sea-saw (balance), Chess, Scale, Ball roller, Sand clock, Chair, Blue jean, Blue screen (painting), objects and installments are symbols of her real life. She finds truth in hidden, twisted and sometimes beautified reality and shapes it as a chair, a chess, or a scale. Through this procedure, she minimizes the point of beauty and forms elaborately her concepts - fear, desire, balance of life, ideal, dream, anxiety, twisted reality and its properties. This is the reason her works are conceptional beyond ideas and symbolism. It also reveals her perseverant insights, which is different from careful and shy demeanor. Especially, her work showing minimal lines of shapes in paintings tells us that she is in pursuit of her own modelling method.
