가슴속에 핀 장미

사람들은 사랑을 아름다움으로 인식하지만 그 안에는 무수히 많은 상처와 아픔이 있다. 서로 사랑을 나누면서 상처와 아픔을 주고 받기도 한다. 사랑의 의미로 해석되어지고 있는 장미. 탐욕스러운 장미에게는 아름다운 꽃과 상반되는 위협적인 가시가 줄기에 많이 자라나 있다. 자신을 보호하기 위한 생존본능의 진화된 식물인 것이다. 본인과 모든 인간의 마음속에는 자신만의 장미라는 식물이 존재한다고 생각한다. 내 가슴 속에서 자란 장미들은 아름다운 색으로 유혹 하지만 그 아래 줄기에는 치명적인 상처를 줄 수 있는 가시로 타인과 내 자신에게 방어적이고 공격적인 장미로 존재하고 있다. ■ 권치원

We recognize love as a beautiful emotion however there is innumerably a lot of pains & sorrows involved in it. We share love to one another but also pains & sorrows at the same time. Rose is understood as a symbol of love. A greedy rose can be beautiful as it appears in our eyes but conversely hides its threatening thorns in below. It is a result of instinct for survival which inevitably evolved them to grow thorns to protect oneself. Every man including myself holds one of their own roses in each heart. The one grown in my heart lies with its tempting color but simultaneously prepared to hurt others with its threatening thorns. ■ KWONCHIWON
