Schemed Accident: 계획된 사고展 ● Nana VS 최재석 / Street Art VS Abandoned Urban Abandoned Urban ● Urban은 도시에 대한 이해가 심층화되면서 사용되기 시작한 어휘로, 기존에 행정적 의미로 사용되던 City라는 단어로 설명되기 힘든 새로운 단계의 현대도시를 의미한다. Abandoned Urban은 이러한 현대도시에서 발생하는 부정적 요소들을 위한 어휘이다. 도시의 불균형적인 발전은 도심 내에 Negative 속성을 지닌 공간들을 배출해낸다. Street Art ● Urban Design Strategy의 실패작인 Abandoned Urban 공간들은 전혀 다른 계층의 Creator들에 의해 자신의 가치를 전환하게 된다. 이 Creator들은 Street Artist들로서, 도심의 어두운 공간들에게 새로운 아름다움을 제시한다. 표면적이고 단순한 작업인 Graffiti를 이용하지만 깊이 있게 사회적 감성을 조절하며 도시의 조화를 이루어낸다. 본 전시에서는 이 두 장르의 새로운 상호작용이 일어날 것이다. 최재석은 Urban의 모습들 중 부정적 이면들을 조명한다. 도심 속에 버려진 공간들, 오브제들을 재구성하여 Abandoned Urban을 전시 공간 내에 재현해낸다. 그가 구성해낸 Abandoned Urban은 Street Art라는 사고를 기다리며 계획된 모순적 속성을 지닌 공간이다. Nana는 전시 공간 내에 재현된 도시의 부정적 속성을 지닌 구조물들에 자신의 아름다움을 마음껏 입힌다. Illegal art로서 게릴라적 속성을 지닌 그녀의 작업 방식은, 최재석의 의도된 공간 위에 입혀짐으로써, 이 역시도 모순적 상황을 만들어낸다. 최재석과 NANA가 만들어내는 Collaboration은 Schemed Accident, 즉 계획된 사고라는 특별한 상황 속에서 진행되며 서로의 가능성을 극대화시킨다. ■ 이동욱

Exhibition "Schemed Accident" ● Nana VS Jaesuk Choi Street Art VS Abandoned Urban Abandoned Urban ● U'Urban' is a phrase that created to define the contemporary city in better way. Word 'City' is not appropriate anymore to describe extraordinary collectives in these days. Urban design is providing lots of positive results more than we were expected. However, it also creates negative territories which were not expected. We will call it 'Abandoned Urban'. Street Art ● UAbandoned Urban, the failure of urban design strategy, is being rehabilitated by unexpected creators. These Creators who named 'Street Artists' make new balance of urban by using superficial drawing that contains profound messages. This exhibition is trying to show the collaboration of these two, within controversial situation. Jaesuk Choi ● restructures the abandoned urban territories in exhibition hall. He will revive the areas by composing and constructing objects which can easily found in derelict sites. This composition is in contradictory situation that the plan should be aimed to meet accident, 'street art'. Nana ● paints her own stories on Jaesuk's composed structures. Her working also encounters controversial situation. The illegal art which has guerrillic nature had to be painted on planned and considered surfaces. Schemed Accident, a collaboration between two artists will create new dimension of abandoned urban. ■ DongUk Lee
