소풍 Picnic

아이의 시선은 우리들이 볼 수 없고, 지나치기 쉬운 것들을 새로운 방법으로 보여준다. 그리고 그들만의 언어로, 생각으로 표현하기 때문에 보는 이를 재미있는 방식으로, 순수한 세상의 캔버스 안으로 인도한다. 이렇게 아이의 시선에 머물러 바라 본 사람들이나 사물들은 독특함으로 가득차 있다. 그 재기발랄함과 상상력은 우리를 미소짓게 해주고, 가슴을 따뜻하게 해준다.

내 그림엔 현실과 비현실이 공존한다. 버스와 그 뒤로 보이는 건물들은 현실 속에 그대로 존재하는 풍경이지만 그 건물들이 버스 위에 올려지는 순간부터 이삿짐처럼 쌓이게 된다. 건물과 한옥들이 해체되어 블록처럼 쌓이듯, 다양한 것들이 이상하고 낯선 방식으로 거기에 존재하는 것이다. 이렇게 현실 속의 한옥이나 풍경은 버스가 지나가면서 비현실의 공간으로 바뀌게 된다. 그리고 건물 안은 아이가 가고 싶은 동물원이나 수족관, 바다, 정글이 되기도 한다. 그 곳에 아이들이 자유롭게 상상할 수 있는 공간이 존재하게 되면서 비현실의 공간은 점점 더 확장된다.

그 속에서는 오로지 아이들의 웃음소리와 재잘거림만이 들린다. 사람들이 내 그림 속에서 아이로 되돌아가 지친 마음이 쉴 수 있는 작은 휴식처를 찾을 수 있길 바란다. ■ 김은술

Baby's eyes ● Reality coexists with unreality in my picture. A bus and traditional Korean-style houses behind exist in the real world but the buildings are piled up like baggage as soon as they are on the bus. There are walking people, being piled up traditional Korean-style houses and buildings in the unreal space. The buildings are piled up and we can see children in the buildings from place to place. So a real city changes a unreal city while the bus is going. ● I would like to paint coexistence between reality and unreality through a combination between buildings and moving things. I have filled inside buildings of unreal space on the bus where baby wishes because of emphasizing baby's eyes. The inside buildings where a baby wishes can be a zoo, an aquarium, an amusement park. Now the unreal space is not the buildings where are piled anymore. So the space of the inside buildings can be anything. An illusion of the line of vision makes us suddenly weird from seeing easily around the surrounding. The funny illusion of the line of vision is going to be the best motive at my coming works. ■
