GlogauAIR is a non profit organization founded with the intention of creating a meeting point between different artistic disciplines. Based in the Kreuzberg quarter of Berlin, the Artist in Residence Programme is its principal activity. ● The main aim of the program is to create a dynamic of work and coexistence between artists from diverse social and geographical backgrounds, encouraging an exchange of ideas and an internationalization of their individual projects. Another goal is to stimulate a dialogue between the artists and city?a place where art professionals and the public are engaged in a constant debate. The residence periods are complemented with exhibitions and lectures by the resident artists as well as other informal activities such as concerts, video art projections, meals, etc. ● At its core, the programme gives an opportunity to artists to critically examine their work, and be examined, in a global context. The GlogauAIR centre invites artists from all disciplines to work in collaboration, expanding their practice in terms of materials, formats and style. Moreover, it encourages them to put themselves and their artistic concept in question, challenging and exploring areas of doubt while looking for creative solutions through interaction and discussion with others. ● The promotion of art as a tool for economic and social development is also a part of GlogauAIR's concept. Hence projects that deal with socially marginalized groups, or treat social and political topics with criticism, will have preference. ● One of the main activities for the resident artists at GlogauAIR is to stage an exhibition every three months in which the studios are opened to the public in a relaxed and festive event. ■ GlogauAIR
