■ 프로젝트 소개_2009 신진작가 릴레이 쇼_프로젝트는, 다양한 실험적인 미디어기반 아티스트들의 작업을 발굴하여 릴레이 전시형태로 온/오프라인 시민들에게 소개함으로써 예술가들에겐 작품발표 기회의 제공 및 창작의욕을 높이고 시민들에겐 참신한 예술언어의 경험과 문화 다양성을 제공하고자 기획되었다. ● 이 프로젝트는 기존의 전시형태를 넘어서서 DVD, CD 음반, 책, 대량생산 오브제 등 전시 결과물을 출판 형태로 배포할 수 있는 시스템을 구축, 예술가들에겐 경제적 피드백을 통해 예술창작을 지속케 하고, 시민들에겐 전시 이후에도 작품과 작가에 대한 지속적인 관심과 향유의 기회를 제공하고자 한다. ● 언더그라운드아트채널은 이번 프로젝트에서 총 13명의 작가와 함께 약 8개월에 걸친 릴레이 형식의 전시를 통해 다양한 형태의 결과물을 선보인다. 나아가 그 결과물들이 출판 & 배포되는 대안적 시스템을 구축, 예술작품이 사회 내에서 유통되는 여러 가지 방식의 가능태들을 모색하고자 한다. 이는 예술가와 관객간의 보다 지속적인 소통 구조를 형성하고 예술가의 생존방식을 실험해 보는 의미를 담는다.

■ 언더그라운드아트채널?_2005년 1월 온라인에서 오픈한 언더그라운드아트채널은 2006년 경계예술가들의 자율적 참여로 이루어지는 온라인 네트워커 & 아카이브 프로젝트 Undergroundartchannel_Vol.2를 시작으로 오프라인 비정기 상영 및 전시 프로젝트 OFF_0℃(스페이스 셀, 서울), OFF_+0℃(아라리오 갤러리, 베이징), OFF_1℃(다원예술매개공간, 서울), OFF_2℃(미나리, 광주) 등을 기획하였다. 2008년 홍대 앞 오프도시OFF ℃에 문을 연 예술비디오 대여점 '새빨간비디오'와 www.undergroundartchannel.net을 기반으로 예술가+미디어+시민의 전방위적 소통방식을 실험하는 다양한 프로젝트를 실행하며 실험적 시청각언어의 소통 가능성을 지속적으로 모색해 나아가고 있다.

#2. Title_Live Film_puzzle Artist_석성석 Medium_영상+미디어퍼포먼스 Date_2009_0717 ▶ 2009_0730 프로젝트공간에서 만들어지는 즉흥적인 비디오클립들의 수집 그리고 설치. 전시기간동안 동적이미지와 소리들은 리얼타임으로 교체되며 공간은 새롭게 변모해 간다. 전시의 시작과 끝쯤에는 수집된 클립들을 이용한 즉흥적인 어도비쥬얼 공연이 펼쳐진다. 이것은 다시 카메라를 통해 기록되며 한편의 리얼타임 영화와 함께 프로젝트가 완성된다. 끝으로 DVD 한 장이 남겨질 것이다.

#4. Title_부추먹고맴맴달래먹고달라이라마 Artist_부추라마(Andeath & Fay) Medium_음악, 퍼포먼스 Date_2009_0828 ▶ 2009_0910 멀티 퍼포먼스 듀오 부추라마는 어린이용 바이올린과 여러 여행지에서 모은 토속 악기, 집 앞에서 주운 악기 등으로 특정 예술 장르에 얽매이지 않는 음악을 만든다. 약 2년 동안의 부추라마 활동을 정리하고 기록한 DVD가 상영 된다.

#5. Title_태양에 채집된 나비; 보이지 않는 힘과 그에 영향 받는 다수의 사람들 Artist_젖은정원 Medium_사진, 페이팅, 사운드, 설치 Date_2009_0911 ▶ 2009_0924 때때로 삶은 자신의 의지와는 상관없이 우리의 삶에 편집을 가한다. 그 편집은 폭력과 다름없어 우리에게 트라우마를 남기게 된다. 아직은 미약하여 혹은 여러 날, 그리고 또 여러 날이 지나도 미약할지 모르지만, 그래서 대안을 제시하지 못하는 날이 올지도 모르지만, 그래도 내가 느끼는 현상이나마 솔직한 고백을 하고 싶다.

#7. Title_사이의 영화 Artist_김계중 Medium_영상 Date_2009_1106 ▶ 2009_1119 영화는 언제나 우리에게 가상적으로 존재하는 세계에만 머물러 있기를 원한다. 영화의 이러한 근본적인 특성에서 비롯되는 가상적인 환영성을 제거한다면, 관객은 해체된 환영을 인지하고 다시 재구성된 영화를 재인식함으로써 스크린 뒤의 현실을 새로운 영화적 세계에서 관람할 수 있게 될 것이다.

Title_Prescription(2009) Artist_최은하 Medium_영상, 설치, 오브제 Date_2009_1207 ▶ 2009_1220 미술이 사람과 소통하는 방식을 연구하는 작업으로 대상설정, 트라우마 조사, 바라는 세상의 모습, 제작의 과정으로 진행된다. 인터뷰 대상자가 바라는 세계의 모습을 재현해내는 과정 속에서 작가는 사람들의 상상이나 환상을 이뤄주는 일종의 마법사와도 같은 역할을 하게 되는데, 이 과정에서 작가와 작품, 작품과 인터뷰 대상자, 인터뷰 대상자와 관객의 연결고리가 본 작업의 진정한 의미가 된다.

#10. Title_틀의 확장 Artist_금빛나 Medium_퍼포먼스 Date_2009_1221 ▶ 2010_0103 지금까지의 전시가 나 자신을 찾기 위한 전시였다면, "틀의 확장"은 잊기 위한 작업이다. 나 자신을 잊기 위해 집단적·제도적 틀 안으로 소속됨으로써 그 안에서 의미가 만들어지는 확장의 연장선상에서 압박감을 풀어나가고자 한다.

#11. Title_The Matters Artist_김시만 Medium_prototype_테스트 프로덕션 Date_2010_0106 ▶ 2010_0119 우리가 사용하는 일상의 물건들은 여러 상호관계성 속에서 존재의 역할과 그 의미를 부여 받는다. 이런 일상의 물건들에 부여된 관계의 구조에 변화가 온다면 또 다른 관계성은 어떻게 존재하게 될 것인가? 라는 물음에서 출발, 이들의 상호관계성을 비틀어보고 그들의 새로운 상호관계성을 실험한다.

■ About the Project_The "UAC_2009 Relay Show_Project" introduces to on/offline citizens the various artworks based on the experimental media art, which not only gives artists a chance to publish their works and inspire their creative activity but also to allow citizens to experience a new art language and cultural variety. ● In addition, this project doesn't stop with the actual exhibit but builds up the system which publishes and distributes the resulting products from the exhibition through the production of DVD's, CD's, book, artworks, and so on. With this, artists receive economical feedback and spectators are encouraged to continue their interest in the works and artists even after the exhibit. ● Thirteen artists take part in this eight-month long project and show a variety of exhibition and results. Furthermore, we would like to establish an alternative system for publication and distribution of artworks, and search for various possibilities for this purpose. Finally, this project will be a meaningful experiment that is aimed at producing a more meaningful and effective communication between artists and the public, and therefore be a way to survival for the artists.

■ About the Undergroundartchannel(UAC)_Undergroundartchannel started as Web_Vol.1, the space of experimenting media and personal communication of art in January, 2005. From June, 2006, new version of Undergrounartchannel Vol.2, the archive project & the online networker for artists who experiment on media and produce art languages, has showed the irregular screening and exhibition project started from OFF_0℃ in Space Cell in 2006 and was followed by OFF_ +0℃ in Arario Gallery, Beijing, OFF_ 1℃ in Dao Space in 2007 and OFF_2℃ in Alternative-mediative space Minari in Gwang-Joo in 2008. The Undergroundartchannel based on the online space www.undergroundartchannel.net and the offline space Red Video which was opened in OFF ℃, 2008 seeks the possibility of experimental audio-visual language through various projects experimenting the communication among artists, media and citizens.

#1. Title_Looking at yourself Artist_Jung, Kang Medium_ screening, installation Date_Jun.23-Jun.30 This work is made up of one's experiences of the time as one looks at herself or himself while the artist looks at her or him with the completed physical form opened. Welcome everyone who would like to experience your image in a different way!

#2. Title_Live Film_puzzle Artist_Suk, Sung_Suk Medium_Screening + Media performance Date_Jul.17-Jul.30 This work is the collection and installation of the impromptu video clips made in the project space. During the time of exhibit, the dynamic images and sounds are changed into realtime and the space undergoes a transfiguration. The impromptu audovisual performance using the collected clips will be showed in the opening and the end of exhibit. This is recorded again by the camera and with one realtime cinema, the project becomes complete. Finally, One DVD will be produced as the result of this work.

#3. Title_The man who wasn't there. Artist_Moon, Myoung_Gi Medium_screening, installation Date_Aug.3-Aug.16 The artist puts together contradicting relationship in the real world which is connected just like Mobius strip and its meanings by creating new relationships. Here he asks us to perceive the message of disappearance through the various encouraging experiences, and not through fixed and visible objects.

#4. Title_Boochoomeokko memmem dalaemeokko Dalailama Artist_Boochoolaamaa (Andeath & Fay) Medium_Music, Perfeormance Date_Aug.28-Sep.10 The multi-performance duo, Boochoolaamaa, shows a kind of music that is not bound within a specified art genre, using the violin for children and other folk instruments collected from various places. The DVD that features the works and documents of Boochoolaamaa, covering a period of two years, will be on the show.

#5. Title_Butterflies caught by the Sun Artist_Wet Garden Medium_photography, painting, sound, installation Date_Sep.11-Sep.24 Life is sometimes edited despite our own will. The edited changes and corrections leave us in trauma, like a violent experience. Our existence is too weak to make a solution but I would like to make a frank confession of how I feel about this world.

#6. Title_possible Artist_Black_Jaguar Medium_Media performance, Screening Date_Oct.9-Oct.22 It is raining. It sometimes pours, and it sometimes rains like tears. Anyway pitter-patter it rains at the window.

#7. Title_Cinema In-between Artist_Kim, Kye-Joong Medium_Screening Date_Nov.6-Nov.19 Cinema always asks us to remain inside the virtual world. If this virtual illusion from the fundamental characteristic of the cinema is removed, the audience may then see the reality beyond the silver screen with the viewpoint of a new cinematic world by recognizing the deconstructed illusion and reconstructed cinema.

#8. Title_Youth, PROJECT Artist_Huh, Na_Young Medium_variable installation Date_Nov.20-Dec.3 Wanted! For time that is never remembered in eternity, consoling and soothing our life's springtime in the past, the present and the future! This is the start of the "youth - project".

#9. Title_Prescription(2009) Artist_Choi, Eun_Ha Medium_screening, installation, objet Date_Dec.7-Dec.20 This work studies how art and man communicate through the process of setting an object, examining trauma, and creating an image of the world we desire. As would a magician, the artist grants his or her imagination and fantasy in the course of representing the image of the world. Here, the connection between artist, artwork and audience, finally, reveals the real meaning in this work.

#10. Title_Extension of the frame Artist_Geum, Bit_Na Medium_performance Date_Dec.21-Jan.3 This work is about forgetting myself while the former work was about seeking who I really am. Upon forgetting who I really am, I put myself under the frame of the mass and system of our society. As a result I would like to release much of my stress as I extend the meanings created in that frame.

#11. Title_The Matters Artist_Kim, Si_Man Medium prototype_test production Date_Jan.6-Jan.19 Through several mutual relationships, day-to-day things we use give meaning to our very existence. This work begins from the question, "If the relationships from our day-to-day existence changed, how could another relationship exist?" The artist makes cynical remarks about this question and experiments a new mutual relationship.

#12. Title_astronoises Artist_Master Musik Medium_sound installation Date_Jan.20-Jan31 The experimental music group, Master Musik, will feature their work using a surround-sound system with multi-channels (4-6 channels), not through the form of sound source.
