여러분들은 제가 초대하는 이곳에서의 오늘 경험을 반드시 자신의 장소로 돌아가서 기록하시기 바랍니다. 그것이 제가 바라는 점입니다. 부디 약속해주십시오. 여러분 땅속으로 들어와 주십시요. 그 방법을 따로 알려 드리지 않아 시간이 걸리겠지만 도착하셨다면 시작 하겠습니다. 보시다시피 어른과 아이들이 기괴하게도 고통스럽지만 훌륭히 자신의 역할을 위해 최선을 다하고 있습니다. 물론 그 일은 계속해서 지속해 나갈 것입니다 .그것은 멈출 수 없는 기계나 잘 짜여진 연극무대의 배우들처럼 움직이고 있습니다. 어떤 성인이 대나무인지 나무 막대기 두개를 엮고 있어 손이 분주히 움직이는 이와 그 아래서 자신의 몸무게의 3분의 1은 더나가는 성인 남자의 무게를 견디고 있는 이가 있습니다. 계속해서 환호성과 박수 소리가 들립니다. 너무 시끄러워서 집중이 안 된다고 하실 겁니다. 하지만 그 광경을 바라보고 가만히 지켜본다는 것은 감히 불가능하다고 밖에 드릴 이야기가 없습니다.

시끄러운 환호성, 그 때문에 중요한 일을 잊지 마십시오. 여러분은 그들을 디딤대로 이용해 땅위로 올라가야 합니다. 하지만 의식하지 않아도 여러분 모두 잘 하실 겁니다. 아무도 그 일을 실패하지 않았으니까요. 역시 한줄기 빛이 보입니다. 땅위에 도착하자마자 누군가 친절히 손을 잡아주네요. 눈이 부셔서 하늘은 올려다보지 못했지만 아이들이 움직이는 곳으로 전속력으로 달려갔습니다. 정확히 제 시야에 들러오는 천막 뒤로 말입니다. 그곳에서는 제 키의 3배나 5배 정도의 긴 사다리 위에서 그 사다리를 철저하게 가릴 수 있는 굉장히 큰 천막 뒤로 아이들은 각자 임무를 수행 받은 듯 어떤 규칙을 가지고 바삐 자신의 일을 계속해서 반복해 나가는 것입니다. 제 손에서 다른 손으로 제 손에서 다른 손으로 말입니다. 어떤 양동이가 주어지는지 그 양동이가 왜 전해지는지 누가 우리에게 그 일을 시켰다는 것은 말하지 못합니다. 물론 그 천막의 용도쯤은 알고 있습니다. 동상 뒤로 보이는 다른 동상들과 우리들을 가리기위해서입니다. 그런 것들이 보인다면 우리들이 임무를 수행하는데 방해가 되기 때문이지요. 넓은 시야는 수행 과정 중에 다른 목표를 가지게 되며 그러한 불필요한 수고를 덜어 주기 위해서입니다. 그런데 어떤 아이들은 자신들이 나온 구멍에서 동상 얼굴도 확인하지 않았다는 것이 유감입니다. 저는 그런 실수를 범하지 않으려 얼굴을 확인하려고 위를 올려다보았지만, 무서워서 두 눈을 가린 적도 있습니다.

다시 동상으로 돌아와서 저희가 차례로 위로 운반한 용액을 사다리위에서는 천막 앞의 동상으로 양동이 속에 가득히 들은 용액을 위에서 아래로 뿌려줍니다. 저는 제가 운반하던 그 양동이속에 무언가 들어있는지 이야기하고 싶습니다. 그 안의 재료들은 이미 제가 배운 것들로 구성 되어 있지만 그것이 섞여 졌을 때 다른 화학 반응을 일으킨다는 것을 이해하거나 알고 있지 못합니다. 그것이 동상에게 덮여졌을 때 제가 아는 것은 그 얼굴의 표정은 매번 달라져 보인다는 겁니다. 고독해져 보인 다거나 영광스러웠던 표정으로 말이죠.

자~다시 주목해 주십시오. 여러분~동상얼굴에서 시선을 내려와 눈을 크게 뜨고 땅위에서 시선을 수평으로 천천히 옮겨 보십시오. 땅위에 선이 놓여져 있어서 시선에 방해가 되었다면 죄송하지만 선을 넘어 다시 시선을 조금만 위로 올려 보면 용액으로 뒤덮인 동상과 작은 아이들 그 아이들의 움직임을 가리는 큰 천막과 그 행위와 형상을 지탱하는 우리의 부모가 보일 겁니다. 그곳에서 조차 어김없이 제가 말하는 일들이 반복되고 있습니다. 어디선가 비웃음과 야유가 들리는 군요. 동상 얼굴은 절대 변하지 않는다고요. 땅위에 동상의 얼굴은 모두 똑같아지고 있다고 말하고 싶으시군요. 조금만 상상력을 발휘해주시기 바란다고 계속해서 동상의 표정은 달라지고 있다는 것을 확인 하실 수 있다고 여전히 말해드리고 싶습니다.

그 보다 각자 자신이 나왔던 동상의 구멍을 확인하시고 그 동상이 제 키보다 수배의 높이로커서 땅위에 존재한다는 것을 최선을 다해 알아보시기 바랍니다. 알아보신다면 그 혼란을 줄여드리기 위해 먼저 알려드립니다. 여러분의 동공이 열리고 갑자기 눈동자가 지진이 난 듯 펄펄 뛰어다니며 시선은 동상의 얼굴들을 향해 여기저기로 옮겨 다니며 보이지 않는 먼 곳의 땅에 존재하는 동상 얼굴마저 눈에 나타나며 제가 알려드린 시선의 방향에서 벗어나 마구잡이로 움직이시게 될 겁니다. 그 일을 당신이 있는 그 자리에서 알아본다는 것은 수고스러운 일 일줄 압니다. 귀찮다고 생각하시겠지만 어떤 날 한줄기 빛을 확인하고 어떤 동상과 연결된 작은 구멍을 통해 땅으로 나오게 된 것은 누군가의 환호성 덕분이라는 점을 잊지 마십시오. ■ 전소진

Territorial Scenery- Line and motion ● You must remember today's experience in the place I am inviting you to and record your memory when you go back to your place. That is what I hope for.
