모든 것은 이미지이다. 그 중 가시적 이미지만이 눈이라는 시각체계를 통해 우리에게 외적 형상으로 인식된다. 유감스러운 점은 우리에게 가시적 이미지가 가진 외적 형상 내면에 숨겨진 다른 심상을 볼 여유가 사그러들고 있다는 현실이다. 또한 지금 보는 현상마저 익숙함이라는 단어로 무뎌져 있기 때문에, 더 이상 그 본연의 모습을 인지한다는 것은 대단히 힘든 일이 되었다. ● 지금까지의 생각을 담기 위해 출발은 당연히 내 자신이 되어야 했고, 나는 기억 속 편린을 모아 현대인이 갖게 되는 괴리감을 비오는 도시의 네온사인과 무수한 불빛들이라는 이미지로 번역하고자 했다. 그리고 나 또한 흩어지고 뿌옇게 된 단초들의 도움으로 현실 속 '도시'라는 것을 비로써 인식하는 듯 했다. ● 그것은 동시대를 살고 있는 우리들의 이야기를 담고 있는 모든 것에 귀를 기울이게 하며, 우리가 잃어버린 손끝의 느낌과 가슴의 저울질을 다시 한번 보게 하는 작업이 될 여지가 있다고 말하고 싶다. ■ 장경애

It's all about images. Especially, visual images of outward form are perceived by us through our sight. It is a shame that the visual images prevent us from looking at the images hidden under what is appeared on the outside. What is worse is that the currently viewed images seem dull due to familiarity so now it has become extremely difficult to perceive the original features. ● In order to include such thoughts, I had to reasonably start from myself. By collecting every glimpse floating in my memories, I tried to interpret the sense of alienation in modern people into the image of city in the rain with displays of neon signs and countless lights. And for the first time, I was able to perceive the city in reality with the help of scattered and blurred pieces. ● It makes us to bend an ear to every little stories of contemporaries and tends to stimulate us to recall the lost feeling of a touch on our fingertips and how we used to scale that feeling in our heart. ■ Jang, Kyoung-Ae
