D.V.D.는 유기적면서도 기계적 음악을 제시하는 새로운 형식의 일본의 트리오 그룹이다. 드럼 듀오인 이토켄Itoken과 지마니카Jimanica, 기하학적이면서 팝적인 이미지를 제작하는 비쥬얼 아티스트인 야마구치 타카시 (ymg)로 구성된다. 두 대의 드럼 비트에 싱크되는 영상 작업인 이들의 인터랙티브 live installation은 2006년 첫 퍼포먼스에서 이미 음악계뿐만이 아닌 다양한 예술 분야에서 관심을 불러 모았다. 이들의 작업은 d.v.d.라는 이름의 DVD가 2007년에 출시 예정이다. ● Artists ● 이토켄Itoken은 동경의 많은 밴드들과 함께 연주하는, 가장 열심히 연주하는 드러머이다. 그는 2000년에 소니의 플레이스테이션 게임인 Dig a Dig Pukka를 위한 음악에서 장난감을 이용한 소리들을 실험했다. ● 지마니카 (오지마 유Ojima Yu)는 동경에서 두 번째로 열심히연주하는 드러머이다. 2006년 그는 데뷔 CD인 Entomophonic"(mao DDCM 5006)을 발매했다. ● 야마구치 다카시는 미디어 디자인을 전공으로 하였고, 게임 제작 회사인 Namco에서 CG 애니메이터로 일한 후, Tachibana Hajime Design에서 일하고 있다. 이 곳에서 그는 인터랙티브 디자인 분야의 다수의 상을 수상하였다. A new type of trio presenting organic and mechanical music, consisting of a drums duo (Itoken and Jimanica) and geometrical pop images by visual artist, Yamaguchi Takashi (ymg). Their interactive live installation, in which two sets of drums control images and the said images play music through a synchronization of the instruments and images, has been attracting attention since Itoken/Jimanica/ymg first performed in 2006. This attention comes not only from the music industry, but also from those working in broader artistic contexts. d.v.d - itoken + jimanica + ymg will release a DVD in 2007. ● Artists ● Itoken, the hardest-working drummer in Tokyo, plays with many bands around town. He has also explored looping toy music, providing the music for a Sony Playstation game in 2000 called Dig a Dig Pukka. ● Jimanica (Ojima Yu) is the second-hardest-working drummer in Tokyo. Last year he released his debut full-length CD, "Entomophonic"(mao DDCM 5006). ● Yamaguchi Takashi graduated in media design and worked for the game developer Namco as a CG animator before joining Tachibana Hajime Design, where he went on to win several awards for his work in interactive design and works art.

335-Orch ● 대안공간 루프의 주소 서교동 335-11에서 가져온 이름인「335-Orch」퍼포먼스 시리즈는 전시공간으로 무용, 사운드 아트, 영상, 시, 재즈에 이르는 문화의 다양한 분야의 예술인을 초대하여, 예술 장르의 교류와 함께 현대 미디어 퍼포먼스를 경험할 수 있는 기회를 관객들에게 제공한다. 총 4회의 공연과 출판물, DVD를 통해 복합장르 퍼포먼스 시리즈를 통해, 입체적이며, 비선형적이고, 상호작용적인 디지털 멀티미디어 환경 속에서 Intrapersonal한 대화를 추구하던 작가는 Interpersonal한 대화에 대한 실험을 한다. 퍼포먼스만이 제공할 수 있는 문화의 생산과 소비가 한 순간에 한 장소에서 이루어지는 경험의 순간을 이번 행사를 통해 실험하고자 한다. ■ 대안공간 루프 335-Orch derives from, the Gallery Loops address: 335-11 Seokyo-dong. These series of performances are staged in this exhibition place where sound and visual artists, poets and jazz musicians have been invited to introduce and perform their opi. There is an ex-and interchange between different art genres in modern media art and the experience of such is offered to an open-minded, absorbing audience that is expecting to be captivated. Overall, 4 installments are represented trough mixed genre-performance, publication and DVD. In order to provide material for culture and consumption, these artistic demonstrations happen momentarily in the given locations. ■ Alternative Space LOOP
